RISKY EXCAVATION NEAR CHURCH

The ongoing excavation, intended for expansion works, has exposed workers to potential hazards due to the apparent lack of protective reinforcements and safety barriers.

At the site, several laborers are seen working inside steep, open pits without visible protective gears such as helmets or safety harnesses. The loose red soil and depth of the trenches increase the risk of cave-ins, especially if weather conditions change or the ground becomes unstable.

Observers have also raised alarm over the proximity of the excavation to the standing church building, noting that inadequate support could compromise the structure’s stability. wooden planks and minimal scaffolding appear to be the only safeguards in place, further intensifying concerns.

Construction experts emphasize that proper safety protocols including trench support systems, protective equipment, and site supervision are critical in preventing accidents. Failure to adhere to these measures could lead to injuries or even fatalities.
